Education RSS FeedsTap the Power: University of Wisconsin System - The publicly funded university system in Wisconsin was founded in 1848 in Madison. Today, the University of Wisconsin (UW) System consists of 13 four-year universities, 13 two-year colleges, and statewide extension programs. The four-year universities offer associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs and UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee offer professional degree programs. The two-year colleges offer associate degrees and freshman and sophomore level classes that are transferrable to the four-year universities. The extension program works with the 26 campuses to assist the Wisconsin community with continuing education, E-learning, and economic development opportunities. The personal nature of this collection brings the benefit of relevance, but means the collection cannot be a complete reflection of all the work in any field.
The references cover a range of topics in: healthcare professional education, in health education and in patient education. They also pick up on specific topics, e.g. smoking, and on neglected areas, e.g. palliative care. Sources are many and varied. Journals include: medical education, general education, specialised areas of education, medicine and medical specialities. There is a range of magazines and newsletters - and even some material from newspapers.
